I'm not looking to make any serious modifications to my audio. In my 2004 D2 I'm currently running a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X502 head unit with the stock LEAR HIPO amp and speakers, and for the most part it's fine. I see a lot of the Harman-Kardon Amplifiers on eBay, and not knowing much about it, I'm wondering if switching to that amp would provide more power and/or better sound.
Has anyone here switched out their LEAR HIPO Amplifier (XQK000010) for the Harman-Kardon Amplifier (XQK000100)? The plugs look the same. The mount is the same.
Just curious if any improvement was gained.
Thanks
I know whether it's a LEAR in my truck or not, but I noticed a distinct drop in quality when I switched it for the supposedly high-line HK amp from my old truck. No increase in power, but way more hiss and noise, so I switched back.
