Default looking for a OBD II scanner

Hi there, I was hoping some one out there could help me. I am looking for an OBD scanner to read and clear codes and came accross this:
UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool
CAN OBDII Code Reader with Multilingual Menu.

Has any body got one of these and how does it work? Does it need to pluged into the obd socket all the time?

Thanks

Also, if you do need live data reading and just codes reset, consider the ScanGuageII. I have one. It matches green like your interior lights at night. It reads and stores your codes. It also great for monitoring coolant temp, rpm, air intake temp and many more you can choose from. It fits nicely above your steering column bezel.

I have an Innova 3130. Works great on the Land Rover. Gives live data and a ton more than I could ever need. Bought it off of ebay for about $90. Retails for around $225. It isn't as compact as the ultrascan but I have been happy with it. Phil
