hi guys, i have a Discovery II 2000,and one day the engine just blow , doesnt work, the mechanic said is overheated, and we start working on , but after all the work the psiton number 3 is not compressing , so i belvie the only one option i have is buy a engine, what do you think is my best option, and where can i find a good engine in resanoable prices, on ther dealer the rebuilt cost 7800 , just for the engine , thanks

 

I question if your mechanic knows Rover engines and how to determine what is wrong. If you did drop a cylinder sleeve, then yes you will need a new one.

This would be a good option, is your mechanic able to replace an engine, how much labor will he charge you?
