Default Looking for tips on Front cover install and Head gasket install

Hey guys I got everything torn apart and getting ready to put it all back together this weekend. I have the Rave manual and am following it just looking for any inside tips on timing chain/gear, oil gear, oil seal, head gaskets, etc.

heads machined, or at least checked for flatness per the RAVE?

So, how many miles on your engine? If you are over 100,000 miles and the front cover is off, I would suggest you replace the timing chain set as well as the oil pumps gear set.

and the water pump, hoses, t-stat and belt, possibly replace the throttle body heater if that hasnt been done in a while , much easier when you can flip the manifold over.

Yes on machined. Just got em back yesterday

Has 140k on it. T stat, hoses, reservoir, and radiator replaced this past September.
Have a new belt, timing chain and gear as well as oil pump gear and sump gasket.
Have the timing gear/chain kit from AB and the head gasket kit should be here today.
Headed out to get oil, antifreeze, and p/s fluid here in a few. Think that covered most of the questions and I think I've got most of the recommendations in work. Thanks for the help.

Well this may be a stupid question but my markings for left and right are gone from the machine shop re surfacing and cleaning. Does it matter which one goes back on where. Couldn't see anything ref that in Rave and heads are essentially the same so.....
