Looking for tips on transmission replacement.
I agreed to help a friend r&r a transmission after a front driveshaft mishap and looking for tips from people who have done it. Any tricks to make the job easier? How much of a pain in the $&$ is it
will also post pics to warn anyone who thinks they can ignore driveline vibration
thanks

Removing the crossmembers and exhaust y-pipe normally requires a torch, to heat bolts/nuts. If you get the two trans mounts out, this allows you to angle the trans down in the rear and makes getting at the "10 and 2 o'clock" bell-housing bolts easier. The bell-housing bolts at "11 and 1 o'clock" weren't that bad, in my opinion, since you can see them and come straight at them from on top of trans, with several long extensions. I pulled the transfer case of the trans, before removing trans. So, l didn't have to mess with brake drum or electrical connections on transfer case.

I bought a transmission jack that really helped get the new transmission up and in.
