Default Looks like a murder scene

There is oil everywhere. It looks like it is coming from the front but there is so much all over the undercarriage that I can't see where it is coming from. It might be the front crank shaft seal, but it doesn't look like it is coming from anywhere around the pulleys. It seems like it is only leaking while running, outside of the junk dripping from everything. Any ideas? I will be coating the underside with de-greaser tomorrow so hopefully I can see a little better. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Red or brown? Brown is engine oil, red is trans fluid.

Check around your oil filter and the block off plugs next to/above it.

Its brown. There is just so much everywhere. Its seems to start around the filter but coats everything underneath from there to the transfer. Thanks, I will be looking there after the degreasing tomorrow.

Oil filter on tight?

Could be the front cover.

First thing I’d do is check your oil level!

Oil level is good. After driving her from Georgia to Louisiana I only lost around 1/2 a quart. Oil filter seems tight.

Could be the blank plugs for where the oil cooler can go.

Run it, and climb under, mind the drips of course, if it is really pronounced you may see it.

With th a viscous fan it is tough to really get a good idea, it’ll constantly be blowing it back.

Try tightening the bolt on top of the filter housing. Need a rather large wrench to do it, i had to use my biggest crescent to do it, and it was tight, but it helped slow the leak in a big way. I was surprised how much it helped. That doesn't mean your valve covers, head gasket, crank seal also aren't leaking though.

Oil cooler plug bolts take a 7/8 open end wrench perfectly.
