Default Lost Power to aftermarket audio unit

Several months ago, I installed an Alpine aftermarket unit in 2004 Discovery. I also have the XM radio adapter and Ipod adapter installed. Used a Metra wiring harness. All was good. Everything worked great.

About two weeks ago, I first lost power to the Satellite tuner. I pulled the head unit to check all the connections, they looked good and I reinserted the head unit. Now, I have no power to the entire system!

I've checked the following fuses: 11, 15,16,20 and 33 and they all looked good. I've checked all the wiring and connectors and they look good.

Any ideas on what I might be missing? Is there another fuse somewhere that I should check? I'm at a bit of loss as it was working fine for 4 or 5 months....It is an older head unit (7 years old) and I had it installed in an earlier Discovery that I owned for about 4 years (worked great) and when I reinstalled it during the summer, it worked fine as well.

Any luck with that?

I've got a similar problem today.

I unplugged my working OEM radio and plugged in an aftermarket unit. No power to it.

Crap!

So I unplugged the aftermarket unit and plugged my OEM unit back in.

No power to it, either!

So I checked the lower left two 15 AMP cockpit radio fuses. They are fine.

Is this a BCU issue?

Confusing.

Would love any help/thoughts.

Did you check the 10 amp fuse from the back of the head units?

OK, instead of just eyeballing the radio fuses F16 & F17, I'm going to swap them out and F20. Same for the radio head fuse and ditto for fuse F26 too... and I'm going to swap the 2 relays R7 (auxiliary) with R8 (heated screen) and check FL7 in the engine bay for my next test of the factory radio.

It turned out to be the nearly unlabeled Fuse F20, not the properly labeled official "radio" fuses F16 and F17. Problem solved.

It was completely blown. No microfracture or anything like that.

As soon as the replacement fuse went in there, the CD changer started cycling even though there was no key in the ignition... so, if you have the highline ICE with the CD changer, it draws power even with the key out+off *and* that matters for the radio head power.
