p/n will cause a no crank. as will alarm, however, immobilization will cause a cranking no start with a loss of spark. the problem is the alarm ecu. luckily, the 95 and 96 share a very commen ecu, so a swap should be very easy, connectors should fit. it may have to be resynched... ill do a little bit of research on this and get back as to if theres an easyier way.

ok, i was wrong here.. on gems cars, immobilization cuts fueling, injectors, so you would still have spark... that said, lets go back to the basics, for spark, you need 4 things, good coils, power to your coils, a good ecm signal to colapse the coils and a good crank sensor signal to tell the ecm when to collapse each one... the ses light turned out when cranking, so the crank sensor checks out. check powerat the coils, should be 12v on the red wire, key on. get back to us if this is good, and we can go through testing the coils themselves

Finally was able to check for power at the coils, tested the red wire that feeds the coils and found that there is no voltage going to the coil with the key on(even with the engine cranking no power).
Guesing my problem must be closer to the ECM??

thats good.... you need power there. if your fuses are all good, you need to jump power to that wire, used a fused jumper, 20 amp fuse. see if it starts then. if so, investigate the harness. voltage is supplied by fuse 3 in satalite fuse block 1

Its amazing!!! Jumped the red wire going to the coils and it RUNS! Sounded awesome. The fuel pump came on, everything worked like it was supposed to; besides the fact that turning off the ignition switch didn't shut the motor off needed to pull the jumper wire to shut everything down.
Ok so where would I go from here to make it work properly?
I know you said something about looking at the fuse 3 in satalite fuse block 1, but where is the satalite fuse block 1 located? Checked all the fuses and they looked good to the eye, but maybe I need to just replace that particular fuse anyway.

Under the hood right behind the battery.

did you change out the fuse boxes when you swapped the harness? if not, you need to, if you did, make sure everything is hooked up properly

Default Finally able to get back to the Disco project!!

So I changed out all the fuse blocks as suggested. When I hooked the battery cable back up the hazards immediately came on and within about 5-10 seconds the horn started going off. This was something entirely new for the project!! Guessing that I triggered the alarm system, so without thinking I immediately pulled the positive battery cable. Afterwards, I thought I should have just put the key in the Ignition and tried starting it. So I rehooked up the battery cable and this time nothing. I tried cranking the motor and still no spark or fuel pump, unless I use the jumper wire on the coil pack then it will run.
Any suggestions??
I am stumped as what to check next; have pulled all fuses and tested them. Wondering if the alarm system is retarding the fuel pump as well as the spark.
Anyone know how I flash or reset the alarm system?
