Lots of lights on the dashboard!
Hi there
I have a 2003 DII w/ 145,000 miles. Today I had Hill Descent, Brake, ABS as well as TC lights came on all at once. Yes my SES light is on too and I have p1412, p1415 and p1590. I think my Secondary Air Pump is dead because whenever I crank the car, it is unbelievably noisy and stops after 2 min or so.
Any ideas? I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks
Bob

RE: noise for 2 minutes - Replace pump, it is noisy because bearings are gone, it runs for 2 minutes by design when engine is cold to reduce pollution. You can unplug to test but will probably get codes. It has a grit filter, but once noisy it will stay that way.
So I read the sticky and it looks like it would take about 1 hour or so... Probably 3 for me, depending on how many Miller Lites I can drink! Do I need to replace the ABS sensors?
Also it looks like I don't need any special tools excepts some allen wrenches, etc. And the other thing is that it looks it is recommended that I bleed the break lines not mandatory. Correct??
As far as the secondary air pump, I am thinking about ordering a used one for $175 from roverlandparts.com (instead of a brand new one for $450! from AB). Has anyone had any experience with used parts? I assume this is a very straightforward thing to do (like 15 min to fix). Correct?
Thanks everyone. I appreciate it.

You should have the ABS codes checked before performing any kind of repair. While what is mentioned in the sticky takes care of one of the more common reasons for the Amigos, there are at least another 12 potential causes. It would really suck to replace/modify something, only to find the cause of the lights was a speed sensor unplugged or something else entirely.
Several members loan out their ABS Amigo tool for a small fee. Bosshoggt is the first one that comes to mind.
