Default Loud knock when turning right. tranny area ???

I have 98 discovery, and lately have knock when turning (mostly right).
Sounds like metal to metal noise, as if there is some kind of lid that knocks as it opens, closes. Sound comes and feels as if it is under the car - under the floor board of driver seat area.
Is there something on top of transmition/drive train that can cause this?

Before knocking noise started - transmition was shaking pretty bad at 75mph due to driveshaft being broken (one joint of spider journal broke....replaced now) ...wondering if vibration could have cause something to get lose.

I been under the car and nothing seem to be lose underneath, have not tested anything on top of trany as it was hot when i test drove the car.

You were driving it at 75 MPH with a broken drive shaft and it shaking pretty bad?

Sounds like you got a death wish. How could you treat any vehicle like that? Not only was it dangerous to yourself, but everyone else on the road with you. Bet you were on your cellie at the same time. Texting?

Quit driving it and have a good mechanic inspect it for a failed CV joint.

I did not drive the car - my Fiance did.
I was away at school (UofM, finishing my masters) and did not have time too look at it when she complained about it, i just told her to drive slower so it would not vibrate (as it did not do it at 70mph).
Did she listen - probably not.

Now that is warmer - she drives RX8, and land rover is not driven.
I replaced Rear driveshaft (one of the 4 pivot joints in the rear as loose).
No vibration.....Just knock when turning (something lose on top of tranny)

Will try to inspect it by for loose parts once i will get a time ... busy with remodeling house and wedding.

Seriously, I would just leave the Discovery PARKED until all that other stuff is taken care of.

Yes, it is parked in the woods right now, no space in garage - i had to park parts 97 Dico there after township came after it...

Will update once i find a cause, in case others will have similar problem.
I never take my cars to the mechanic as they use shot gun approach - replace everything that may lead to the problem, good or bad ... fix /rebuild them my self ...
