What year and mileage? When was it last tuned?
Any fault code numbers and how low does the tach drop?

600 RPM is normal. My truck actually idles a bit lower than that, sometimes just tipping 500. As for your oil any full synthetic oil should be fine, but that oil may not be the best choice for winter depending on where you live. I'm running 5w30 Mobil 1 High mileage.

Also since you just got the truck do a search for discomike's 60k service, it's just a general tune up list of things to do.

Stick with the Castrol 20w-50 because of where you live.
600-750 is normal idle speed.
When the A/C compressor kicks in the idle will drop, this is normal.
If it drops below 500 rpm it will stall. Until that happens dont worry about it.
Then you will need a new stepper motor, also known as the idle control valve.
