LR3 FOB on a Disco 2
#2
I hate replying when I don't have a definite answer to the question posed but I'm going to do it anyway. I would say no. The systems are so vastly different they share nothing in common. The LR3s CAN BUS system is incredibaly complex. As far as central locking goes I would say the only thing they have in common is the frequency and I'm 99.9% that there's no way the DII Valeo BCU is going to recognize the language from the LR3 transmitter. I've never physically tried it so I can't be 100% but on paper there is a 0% chance of it working.
Now, if you just really dig on the looks of the LR3 key you could prob work around it. The LR3 key proper is a laser cut key BUT if you looked around I'm sure you could find a blade that would fit the fob and be able to be cut for a DII key. As for the remote locking functions there are just little contact switches under the buttons, as I'm sure you know. I bet the internals of the DII would fit in the case if you cut away the bulk of the LR3 transmitter and ran leads from the LR3 switches to the cooresponding ones on the DII internals, or something along those lines. I hope that makes sense.
