How much is the conversion kit?
As far as I know there are no CDL "guts" inside a '03 t-case thus a conversion can not be done.
You can buy a used t-case from a '99-'00 DII or a '04 and just bolt it right in, then all you will need is the shifter and shifter linkage.

If AutoSports does not show it on their site then call them as they dont list everything.

Here's the link to another member who has apparently done the same thing. I was mistaken in calling it a conversion. It actually involves replacing the front output housing. The kit is $329.00 plus shipping. Looking on Ebay it seems it might be less expensive to just replace the whole t-case. The kit does not require removal of the t-case from the truck though. Hmm... Decisions, decisions.

Or would I???
Since my transfer case was in VERY good shape I decided that in MY situation and location, the cheaper option was the front out-put housing kit. I did not want to buy a used transfer case with an unknown history.

You are right in that the 03 do not have "CDL GUTS". BUT, you can take the front output housing from a locking transfer case of any year DI or DII except 03 and swap them as that is the section that houses the CDL GUTS.. Ask me how I know......
so if you keep the rest of your 03 t-case in doing this setup, you have done the "conversion". if you did a complete swap then you didn't "convert" anything so it doesn't count... =)
There you can see the 03 housing with No nipple and the locking type housing with the nipple. (picture was taken at an angle. Both housings are the same size)
Here is the inside of the NON locking housing (No CDL GUTS)
here is the inside of the locking housing (GUTS!!)
