This is great information. I don't foresee going off-road much so I think this would be a great option for those that only do the occasional off-road trip.

I put one of our L8 front shafts in my older D2 with a 3" OME lift that I only used Off Road. Never had an issue with it. Keep them lubed everytime you change the oil and enjoy.

I ended up with the ll8 one and so far am happy. Also noticed the non-greasable centering ball, but my OEM also didn't have greasable, and I went over 100k miles.
