Default Lucky8 steel rear bumper fit?

Either I did something wrong here or this fits like absolute ****. Anybody have any idea what I did wrong? No instructions but it seems like a no brainer. Atlantic British had a video about installing this bumper, I did it the same way except I had to take my finishers off to get it to fit on there. Maybe something on my truck is bent? Where the bumper meets the frame is flush far as I can tell.

I’m no fitment expert. Is it uncommon to use some washers (spacers) to get the correct angle ?

I am as far from an expert on fitment as one can get. 😂 No idea. I suppose I could give it a shot and see if I can get it to align better. But I can't even imagine where I could put the spacers to change that angle. I may need to drop my hitch.

I do know about this. I ordered the same bumper from Atlantic British in March. The same bumper is sold by AB and Lucky 8. The bumpers all come from China and are drop shipped out of a warehouse in CA, so AB and Lucky 8 never see them. We received the bumper and it was poorly packaged with the box damaged and the bumper all scraped up. Asked for a discount and they gave me one. Then went to put it on and had the same issue with the fit on the sides as your pictures show. Contacted AB and they responded as follows: "Sorry for the delay, We checked stock and all the bumpers we have in stock are from the new batch and have the same issue. At this point I can credit you back for the bumper or we can wait for new stock to arrive late next month to see if it is corrected. Let me know what you would like to do." I asked for a refund and they returned my money - I don't appreciate being sold a defective product, but I do appreciate that they remedied the problem. I ended up having a welder fix the bumper and it looks pretty good, but I still would have preferred for it to have been correct from the factory. I'll give Lucky 8 the benefit of the doubt that they didn't know that the entire batch of bumpers from China is defective, but they better refund your money.

Good luck.

Brian

Seems everything is from China. Terrafirma lift kits say right on them. Made in China

You need to shim where it fits under the hitch mount. If you loosen it up to where you can move it you will see the problem. Standard bumper shims will work but they may need a bit of grinding to get a taper. Once you you get it right tighten it up and if you really concerned add a bead weld.

Really the extend piece to mate up to the hitch area is the issue the angle is wrong you might be able to bend it.

No you should not have to but that is the problem area.

You can shim all you want. The bumpers are not made to spec. Trust me. I received one.
