Lug nuts...

just as described above... the tin covers on the nuts are slightly bent so the tool won't fit on them. All went well after hammering around. But just why are there tin covers on it???

I just keep in mind that if I ever get a flat tire, I will probably not be able to use the spare wheel as I don't carry around a hammer with me

The covers are there for looks, alot of SUV's have those now, especially Dodge.
A claw hammer and Channel Locks will fit under the rear seat as well as a 1/2" breaker bar and socket.
Thats what I do.
I have also found that using a small pry bar you can get the socket off of the lug while it is still on the rim.

You drive a disco you should have a fairly robust toolkit in the back
