i once had big chain place (from which i ordered some micky thompsons) try to convince me that I had a stud sheared off, when I brought the truck in. problem was, I had before pics...I wanted to compare with after . ended up getting 5th tire free and free mount and balance. at least they made up for the lie

I had the same problem when I took an old Porsche to a major chain for tires. I left strict instructions that the lug nuts had to be hand fitted, and even wrote the torque specification on the work order. Sure enough, some neanderthal decided he wouldn't bother and picked up his pneumatic wrench.
Needless to say, he eventually cost that shop a lot of money.

Yeah, even after the Manager watched his guy do that, he offered to pay for the labor if I bought the parts. Hahaha... Of course, they bought the studs in the end. May I remind you, 7!

I'm having a problem with removing a lug. The cap seems to be spinning freely. Is there a way to remove the cap of the lug while it is still mounted? Thank you

Go to harbor freight, buy the correct size deep-well impact socket (27mm) and drive it on with a hammer. You will probably have to drive the lug nuts out of the socket through the 1/2 drive hole with a punch or something. Then replace the nuts.
