SOLD! 8mm STI wires and +4s... I'm also purchasing O2-sensors, any tips on that? Cheers!

Get one's with the factory plugs. People have had problems with generic one's you have to wire in.

On changing them, soak them in PB Blaster and use an O2 socket to remove. Most parts houses have them.

what do you mean by "factory plugs"? Pardon my ignorance, I'm relatively new to DIYs, but am willing to be schooled upon... cheers!

factory connectors that will just plug right in. Atlantic British has sales on good replacements, and I thin rover connection has good prices too. Just be wary of the universals they sell on e-bay. You have to cut the connectors off and wire them in.

When changing, you will just unplug the sensor, replace and plug the new one in.

The Rave manual is the same workshop manual the dealers use. A free download is in my signature. Get one and look it over. It has everything.

Thank you sir... I'm still fussing about what could be really wrong with the SES light and especially with the codes I have received (and thoroughly researched: p0130 & p0171)-- both related to O2-sensors and somewhat (indirectly, I think) to spark plugs as well. I am buying the O2s from Atlantic Brit, they are quiet cheap 60-beans a pop (so I would need 4 all together, yes?). And since I don't have a garage, I have to wait for a garage to open (a buddy of mine is the rally racing business and he is willing to help me get the garage for a day or so)-- BUT I NEED TO GET THIS FIXED A-SNAP. Any take on this? Cheers!

all 4 sensors at the same time. They should be replaced at 100K anyway. They start going out and will give you decreased MPG.

The O2's are relatively easy, and the plug wires are the most difficult to do. There is a way to replace them without removing the intake manifold, but it is tricky. There may be a write up in the sticky, or just do a search.

Replace the O2's with the exhaust hot, they will come out easier.

the whole "factory connectors" vs universal O2 sensors...i don't get it big dan. i mean, everything from the sensor on up thru the wires is the same...whether the wires connect via easy connector or splicing together where does the difference lie?

the sensors are the same, eh? or does a slight added resistance of say, a butt connector, alter the reading of the sensor?
