Default Making a better camper

Right now I'm waiting around for parts and cash to fund said parts but I've been tinkering with the idea of pulling out my rear seats (rarely use 'em) and making a better camper for long term trips and what not.

I was wondering if anyone else has bothered with some cool builds.

I was thinking of taking out the back seats, making a storage box in the foot well to make it flat (more room for parts) and install a fold down bed and more storage (can never fit enough parts) and any amenities that would make living in this vehicle for 2-6 months on the road less miserable.

I've also just realized looking through pictures on expedition portal that my imagination runs faster than my wallet.

i found a storage platform (cabinet / sliding draws) off Craig list. it just happens to be beige w/beige carpet and is the same height as my seat folded. So with the seat down you have a full size platform, but when the seat is up it look like the floor of the truck. i think it was originally in a pathfinder.

Discovery Series II

^ this one you have to scroll down a bit to see, its in the air compressor in the rear cargo box.

^ This one I would get rid of the subs and put my own 12" flat sub in the rear drivers side cargo box.

I would do both of those if any first... they are awesome. Then I would just keep the cargo space as is for my dog

should be a fun project, lots of room in the back there, especially with the seats removed. could build a platform with space for bed roll on top and tons of storage within, maybe like 10"-14" high and 3'-4' wide, plus the wheel well boxes you talked about. could do a single deep side-by-side sliding box with twin half-as-deep's that open from the back. then also do single or double sliders that run perpendicular to those that can be accessed from each of the open doors. tarp hooked to the roof rack on one or both sides for chair(s)/table, plus the rear door cook stove upgrade, and you're starting to look like a camper. not seeing internal seating, anybody else?...
