Default Manually locking driver door when door is open

Quick question so I can confirm I'm not going crazy - is it not possible to manually depress/push down the door sill lock button when the driver's door is open? I have noticed that this is possible on every other door when they are open except the driver's door. I'm assuming this is an intentional security feature to ensure you don't accidentally lock yourself out if you've left your keys inside the car? Just wanted to make sure it's supposed to function like this and that it's not an issue with my actuator. Couldn't find any mention of it on here or in the owner's manual.

As far as I know that is the expected behavior, at least mine does it too.

I was working in the ECU area and put my foot up on the door and depressed the passenger door lock with the door open. When I turned on the ignition switch a bright red light came on next to the odometer. I looked it up and it was a "Super Lock" warning. I raised the door lock and the light went away. Figure that out and my driver door lock works like described above.

Got it, thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure before reassembling the door after fixing the regulator.
