Measuring castor or horizontal reference in cassis and axle
Guys
Thanks in advance for your help.
I am stuck trying to measure the angle of my front axle to redrill the radius arms bases in the axle. Lifted the car between 3 to 4 inches but do not have the specific change in height because the springs I have are HD for Discovery 1 V8 and I installed a 300tdi to the car.
The discovery is parked at my garage and haf of the ground is horizontal and the other half ia a bit inclined, then thw car ia not parked in a zero degree ground.
I tried to find a horizontal (zero degree) surface in the axle in order to align it with the horizontal reference in the chassis and then take the measurements I need before chopping the axles. At this time the surface that I think must be horizontal is the base of the springs, but i need to confirm thia with aomeone else.
Any help on this?
What is the standard way to measure the castor angle?
Thanks!
