Default minor oil leak

Been getting a drip (or 2) every week or so...nothing too bad. cleaned up the oil sump area noticing it has some on the front left side of the pan cover bolts near
where the wire going to the starter meets the passenger side of the oil pan. I checked the torque on the oil pan bolts and some were looser than 16 ft lbs. snugged them up.

I'm assuming that over time these bolts work loose somewhat and require re-tightening...correct?

PCV mod? Do that first. Valve cover bolts loosen.

I did the PCV mod. I cleaned out the valve early in the winter season. no blockages there.

I checked the valve cover bolts last year...haven't this year....I'll do that in the morning.

A drip or two every week is way below an amount that I'd be at all concerned about.

check the hose on the driver's side that comes off the valve cover to the intake. mine was spongey as hell and 95% clogged causing massive oil leaks. changed it out for a fresh one and all the leaks stopped.

checked the 2 lower bolts on the valve covers both sides (oil runs downhill) so if it was leaking there there would be wet areas along the bottom side on
either side. not seeing any wetness. Checked torque on the 2 lower bolts....84 in lbs.

so I guess it's the oil pan gasket.

The oil level in the pan is usually below that gasket, usually only leaks due to crankcase pressure. Main cap side bolts are under pressure, take a look at those..

Those bolts are higher up on the block than the gasket so wouldn't they see LESS oil? you are referring to the oil pressure from the pump circulating oil
along the crank....?
