I replaced my drivers side mirror on a 1998 Disco I.
There is a plastic cover on inside of door. This will pop off pretty easy. Just be careful.
You also have to disconnect the electrical connectors. This takes a little time to pry loose.
There are three bolts that hold the mirror bracket from the outside.
Once the three bolts are removed the mirror will come away from the door.
The new mirror will go on in reverse.
The total time is about 20 min when you take your time.
I bought my replacement mirror on ebay for $20.
It took me less then 10 min to replace and test for the controls.

Thanks for the info. I just picked up my mirror @ the dealer. I'll see if I can match your record install time.
LR wanted to charge me 1 hour labor.

A couple of months ago I had the drivers side mirror replaced at my local glass shop for $35 and it to them 10 min. AND insurance paid for it.

Thanks for the responce, the mirror was ripped off the vehicle before I bought it. If you look @ the picture I posted you'll see that only the plastic was still attached.
Any way it is on now and I'm happy to say the electronics work.
Oh yeah, the inner plastic cover was not easy to remove, and a small plastic peice (on the back side) came apart. But thanks to crazy glue it's back to gether now and looks like it should.
