Misfire only on drivers side
When i drive it you can deffinetly tell its missing. and if you try to give it gas, it will just go up to 2000rpms and stay. if you push the pedal down it will down shift but not gain any speed, and then the misssing gets worse. it feels and sounds like its just running off of 4 cylinders.
So, good news i guess. Spent lunch changing out the wires for another set of 8mm. ran ohms on the wires and had three out of four that were toast on the drivers side. The truck ideals smooth, check engine light is off. I would just like to thank the person who thought putting the coils in that location was a good idea.
Bad news.Still misfireing. Still throwing the light and same codes. Giving up on trying to figure this problem out. Coils looked good when i replaced the wires. And the wires going to the coils seemed fine.
New start to the week. Brought it to a shop to find out what is going on. Hopefully it is something that i over looked and not something completly major. Should hear back by the afternoon on what it is. Ill keep ya posted
Good freaking news. Truck is running in top condition. No more codes, other then P1590 and no more misfire. Turns out it was a plugged cat on the drivers side. Figure ill give some advice to anyone else with the similar issues. Drop the y pipe on the side you are suspecting and see if the vacuum readings change if they go up, then it looks like its a good posobility that the cat is clogged on that side. But its always a good idea to check wires and plugs. When i checked one of my wires i had an ohm reading that didnt look right and i didnt want to chance it on the plugs anyways. Thanks for the help guys.

When I pulled my plugs, all the plugs on the passenger side bank were wet, while all the driver's side plugs looked perfect. As you mentioned, no way it could be a coil pack because each coil pack serves 2 cylinders in each bank.
I did the nighttime light show check, and I had faint blue arcing around multiple wires,...notably, and curiously,.....mostly on the driver's bank which had nice clean plugs.
I knew I had to replace the wires no matter what, so ordered STI wires ($40 on eBay) and new plugs, plus valve cover gaskets and upper intake gasket. Got it all done, and all the misfires were gone and truck is now running far better. Hopefully my new Bosch O2 sensors will clean up the final P0150 code (had 13 codes when I bought the truck), smooth my still rough idle, and improve my current 8 mpg I'm getting on premium.
