Default Misfires, white smoke and not a clue

So, I've had this wonderful 2001 Disco for about 18 months. About 6 months ago my engine light went on and said that I have multiple cylinder misfires. I tired to read though past post to get an idea of I needed to do and the recurring answer was change the spark plugs and wires. I did that and I had the same problem. Then I noticed that everyone was saying that you have to have certain plugs and certain wires. I did that, changed to Bosch +4 platinum and 8mm magnacore. It ran the same. Low gas mileage, I get a little over 200 miles to take now, before I was getting over 300. When I drive from an idle position it feels like I'm starting in 3rd gear. I was lost about I needed to do. Then one day, I heard a weird noise coming from my vents and then some kind of smoke came through the vents (good thing I'm not a spy or I would have thought someone was trying to kill me). Then the car overheated and stalled. I had the car towed home and when the car starts up whiteish smoke comes out and it stalls when I try to put it in gear. Everyone has been telling me that it's a bad head and a pain to fix. However, the question is; are the misfires and the bad heads related? If I get the heads replaced would I still have misfires? Please help. Thank you in advance if you can lead me in the right way.

Sounds like you have a blown head gasket(s). Yes the misfires would occur because of this. Mifires won't go away until you fix your heads.

So I fix the heads and then there won't be any misfires?

Your head gaskets are leaking engine coolant into the combustion chambers.
When this happens the coolant evaporates and comes out of the tailpipe as white smoke because it does not burn.
Because engine coolant does not burn it is drowning out your spark plugs thus giving you the mis fires.
If your spark plugs cant spark then you get a mis fire.
Once you have the head gaskets replaced then your mis fires will be gone.
Make sure they use the same plug wires but install new spark plugs.
This will cost you ~$1500 at a independent mechanic.
~$3000 at the dealer.
So shop around and make sure that they check your heads for cracks and warpage since you overheated the engine.

Or DIY for around $500 +or- $100. I never worked on an engine before I did mine and I got through it. It was not easy but I'm glad I ended up taking the bull by the horns.

First we need to know the exact fault codes. Are you needing to add coolant, what did the smoke smell like that came thru the vents and are you leaking/dripping?

the codes were P1300 p0301 p0300 p0441 p0308 p0305 and p0306. the smoke smelt like coolant, it was leaking coolant before this all went down. I think it's empty right now and that's why it isn't leaking at the moment. Should I flush the coolant? I saw a sticky on here somewhere that gives good instructions. Would that be a reason why it stalls when I put the truck in gear?

Dont do anything other then have it towed to a shop to get it fixed.
Do not start it, do not do anything, call a tow truck.
