^^^ THIS. you do NOT want to have both driveshafts installed and then drive too much on surfaces with no slip. the transfer case cannot handle the differences in rotation between the front and rear axles for long when the case is locked.
and if you've been able to drive with no front driveshaft, then your case must be locked.

You install the front shaft ONLY if you plan to go off road? Why?

no hills or ice/snow in FL. I don’t see a need for a perm. 4 wheel drive other than off roading.

Hydroplaning can be a bitch though and God knows it rains in Fla.
I'm pretty confident theres just no reason NOT to leave it on.
You're creating extra work for yourself for what purpose?

You're creating extra work for yourself for what purpose?

not to mention a lot of added stress to parts that were designed to share the load.

the Discovery drivetrain was designed to distribute load from the engine to TC and from the TC to front and rear driveshafts and differentials. when you remove 1/2 the parts from that you are asking the remaining TC output, driveshaft and diff to compensate.

I will check for the CDL switches, need to research on where to find them. Ordered a FDS from Lucky8. Thank you guys!
