Question Model without sun roofs, please ?

Seen several 'SD' for sale and their pictures show having sun roofs. Now am not sure of anything. Which is for sure the model without inside rain ?

SD or S should be models without sunroofs. If one had it, maybe it was an aftermarket add-on? I've seen that on several D1 SDs. Not sure why you'd ruin a good thing...I have an '03 S and the lack of sunroofs is probably one of the best things about it.

if you ordered a new Disco 1 in the day you could actually order an SD with a factory sunroof - pretty sure you could only order a front sunroof not dual - not sure about D11

If I’d do it again, I’d have went no sunroofs. Accessing, repairing, and resealing them took me over 20 hours, it’s a lot of work.

I'll out myself as a sunroof fan. Yeah they leak its annoying and can cause issues no denying that. It's a flawed system. But I love the extra light inside the cabin, and the ability to crack it open on hot days. Both of my sunroofs leak pretty badly but I just keep a towel in the truck to dry it out.

Sunroofs were an option on all trim levels I believe. My first disco was an S which had sunroofs. I've only ever had one without sunroofs, I bought it as a rolling chassis.

Probably in excess of 90% of all D1's and D2's on US dealership lots had leather and dual sunroofs - it is what the market demanded so finding no SR's and cloth manual seats was a tall order unless you ordered it so - funny fast forward all these years later and SD models are in demand - not to mention manual transmission and safari packages

Mine doesn't have any sunroofs, fortunately or not. I think it's an S model, from 2003.

S & SD did not roll off the factory floor with sunroofs or leather seats in the USA. Dealers easily had the leather replaced, and aftermarket sunroofs added. Heck some S & SD's got 1 sunroof. The aftermarket sunroof giveaway was the shade. It had a solid shade vs the OEM units with the black mesh shades. I've owned 2 D2's without sunroofs. First was an 04 in Vienna Green with a black vinyl interior (looks nearly identical to leather). It was also a 7 seater. The latest one is a 99 D2 with ACE, and Bahama Beige Leather seats and the winter package. The earlier D2's were spec'd out all sorts of ways.
