more 12volt outputs...
Spike pointed out in response to another of my posts that running many things of one 12v plug will cause the fuse to blow.
i was wondering if anyone knew how to create a setup so you could have multiple 12v outputs?
could it be done by tracing the wire for the cig lighter back, and splicing a few more wires out? or something like that...

There are two ways to do it, you can tap into the fuse block, find a open port, if there isint a open one then use a higher amp one, like a 30 amp.
The other way is to wire directly to the battery putting a inline fuse on the wire. That is the route that I would go.

go to a car audion store, you should be able to get a multi port fuse block, like a small distribution block 1 wire in, 4 wires out, maybe more if you need it... then all you have to do is run one wire into your truck somewhere, mount the block, run your "output wires" to wherever you will need your power outlets and your all set... put the fuse block somewhere dry and easily accesible so if you blow a fuse...

nice, good idea.
but does that mean these devices would be pulling power off the battery the entire time? Or would the electrical flow stop when the car was shut off if one of those multi-fuse ports were used.

you could run a switch, manual or ignition, or you could just have them steady on... you could have accesories plugged in with constant power and as long as none of them are on then it shouldnt draw any current... much like how some cars cigg lighter outlets work with the ignition off and no key, and some have to have the ignition on...
