Default More Coolant leaking!

I took my car out for a short drive early this morning... It's 6 degrees here btw! Freezing! But, at about 0830 I noticed that there was a small puddle of liquids underneath my landy. It turned out to be coolant. I looked under the hood and found that the coolant was leaking from the right side of the vehicle. From what I can tell it looks like the leak is coming from just over the valve cover. I traced a tube from the coolant tank over to the valve cover area. I felt for cracks but couldnt find any. I drove the landy over to work about a hour and a half ago and checked under the car for leaks again and there wasnt any.... On the way to work I noticed that there was a high pitched whirring sound every time I accelerated. That sound is also gone.... Any ideas on what my problem might be?!?! I used 50/50 dexcool that they sold at Autozone!

Thanks in advance for the help

JC

Drivers side valve cover? Leaking ontop of the valve cover then running down onto the ground?

Go with the first one, you can buy it at your dealer for like $5.

Following up on Spikes, I would go with the second link, you will most likely need the full gasket set that Rover updated 4 plus years ago to stop this leak.

The leak appears to have been a one time deal. It hasn't leaked since. Is this normal? Still think I should do a replacement?

Either replace the whole kit, the proper repair, or by-pass the system by joing the two hoses together, which I did 4 or 5 years ago.

I live in Colorado and it doesn't seem to cause me problems on these -10 to -20 degree mornings.

done deal... I'm in MT, plenty of 20 below mornings, but a knowledgeable wrench and stocked parts are farther afield than in CO. I'll try it though!!
