No worries Mike, like I mentioned I already ordered the new assembly, is just won't be here until the end of the work. The emergency fix is just that, for an emergency like facing certain death without a trip to the hospital.

Do you have a death wish for your engine???????????????????
Your upper radiator hose was discontinued over 4 years ago because of it's high failure rate.
Buy the new style hose with the up-dated "T" and bleed screw.
Disco Mike,

Mine is a 2001 and has the "T" with a bleed screw...does this mean my upper radiator hose had been replaced within the past four years? I am the third owner and do not have the service history.

Thanks!

Well, the upper hose came in last week, and I'm still leaking like crazy. Everything points to the water pump, which I didn't have any luck getting off before. Today, I picked up the correct fan clutch tool, removed the fan, and things are looking much better. All the other hoses are looking good, so I think once I get the pump in, I'll be back in business.

I've gotta admit, two weeks without the Discovery, I'm starting to get cravings...
