Remember the guy in Police Academy? Take the front seat out and use the back.

My girlfriend had to drive it home! she and the kids love it ! On my day off Wednesday I will start to look into making the seat more comfortable to fit in.

Evan at 6' I find I'd like it to go further back.
That said, just as you are new to the truck, you know the seat moves up and down by quite a lot too? Might not be obvious…

Sufficient legroom isn't just Disco II's, Disco I's have the same issue. I test drove a Mitsubishi Montero a few weeks ago and it had the same problem. I feel yer pain. It's like there needs to be an extra inch and a half of seat travel which isn't there. The Disco is a design of compromises because they started with the Range Rover chassis and worked backwards, and it's a 100" wheelbase which doesn't leave a lot of length to work with. One reason the seat bottoms are as short as they are. Let us know if turning the seat track around works for you.

I removed the stop studs in the rails and added some flat iron to extend the motors. It will create a lot of leg room but remember what you gain in the front detracts from the back. I can't find the original instructions on this. The site is no longer available. But here is part of the step.

The original site seems to be gone, but I found this link to a PDF of the original instructions.

Yes Sir, that is the mod I used. Save yourself the heartache and remove the seat from the vehicle. Just 4 bolts and its out.
