Default Motor Mount

I have an 02 Disco SE, I'm trying to find the motor mounts to see if they are good. I have some engine vibration when I'm in drive and sat at a set of lights. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I heard that if I put it in reverse and there is no vibration, it's a good chance its a bad motor mount? Any comments on that?

Thanks

well putting it in reverse torques the engine in the opposite direction, making it push down on the bad mount instead of lifting off of it, thats why that is so. in my experience, a bad motor mount will be most noticeable at acceleration from dead stop. or you can sit at home, pop the hood and look at the engine while someone has it in drive with thier foot on the brake and hits the gas a few times. MAKE SURE THEY KEEP THEIR FOOT ON THE BRAKE THE WHOLE TIME. if the engine "jumps" the "clanks" back down, you have a bad motor mount. Your motor mount connects the chassy to the engine. usually about 4 inches square or round wide, 2-3 inches tall, usually black thick rubber.

your issue sound more like the engine is not running well maybe? bad plugs could cause this, but i guess a whole slew of things could. I would perform the 60K service, starting with plugs and wires in my opinion

Thanks. I just replaced the wires and plugs 2 weeks ago. I used Magnecor 8mm and Bosch Double Platinum +4. Should I still check the motor mounts?

Rick, come on, you mean you can crawl under the engine and find the 2 motor mounts. I want you to close you eyes and think where it might be, like between the motor and the frame and then go look.
Once you find it, look for a larger crack in the rubber block.
At your milegae you may have a bad drivers side mount, I would replace both, actually I did years ago.
If the vibration is not coming from there, when was it last tuned, with wires, what octane gas are you using, have you cleaned out your t/body and idle contol solenoid?
