Default Mount for CB Antenna

Hello,

I see alot of cb antennas mounted to the spare tire mount. Is there a mount that bolt to that or are these welded on.

Thanks

The spare tire mount is not drilled on, it is bolted.
What sort of antenna are you thinking about using?

I just purchased (and in the middle of installing) my cb and antenna. You may want to consider the NGP (No Ground Plane) antenna Firestik has if you go with the spare tire mount. All the mounts I've seen used bolts to attach to the carrier. Firestik's site is a little confusing. In the tech section they reference EE's Disco antenna installation, but the write-up fails to mention anything about connecting a ground. Be sure to read over the tech section Firestik has and then make your decision on the antenna.

Make sure you buy an antenna that gives you at least 2' of height above the roof. Also you might consider using a quick disconnect so you can easily remove your antenne if needed.
