I ended up buying a cubby safe from Wild4x4 here in England. https://m.facebook.com/pages/categor...6391959112106/
The build quality of the safe is very durable and heavy from 304L stainless steel, the body is 1.5mm thick. The combo lock is made of metal and secured well to the 3mm thick lid along with the sturdy hinge.
For the install, I removed the 2 original screws from inside the cubby box, inserted the safe, bolted it down with the 2 bolts with washers that came with it, set the combo and I was done. It took me longer to take out all the crap that I stored in the cubby box than it did to install the safe. So easy!
After I installed the safe, I tried to lift it out while it was locked and The safe is definitely not going anywhere or opening up without the combination.
If I was back stateside, I wouldn’t be able to store my Glock 40 in the safe due to its size but my wife’s 380 Beretta would fit nicely next to my Nanocom in the box.
I’m glad I bought a quality product and the perfect price.
