Is there anyone that can modify dash to fit 2 din radio for 2001 LR Disco?
Hey, i'm trying to install a 2 din radio/gps/dvd. I saw somewhere where someone was to modify in order to fit it. Is there anyone here that can do that, ill pay to have customized. Thank You
I doubt it will fit. You would need to cut all the way down to the temp control and then cut all the way up to the top of the dash board. It is almost double as thick. No return after that mod. But a nice Navigation and touch screen would be cool.
I have seen a Kenwood that has a detachable screen the goes out and above. It shows up in the random pictures before you log into the forum.

anything is possible, it's just a matter of how much money or time or both that you want to spend.

This is a common mod for 1997 and newer Corvettes. One guy started a nice business doing the dash mods; $300-$450 or so with your trade in bezel.
If you wanted to pursue someone doing it for you Google "Corvette Double Din" and you will find the guy that does them for Corvettes and some other cars too. Maybe email him and ask about him doing yours and also email him one of the links here on how to do it so he knows what he would be getting into.
The Disco II might be a nice niche truck to do it with to add Nav, Bluetooth Phone, Ipod, etc.. I did my Vette and it really upgrades the interior.
I did my Vette with some similar directions posted to modify the Vette bezel. I bought a bezel from a salvage shop and worked on that first. Turned out great and once I had it done changed it for my stock one and did the install. And was able to sell my stock radio bezel on the forum for someone else to do similar. For the Disco II that part is probably available at a salvage shop. And since it is just black the truck interior color wouldn't matter.

There are quite a few threads on this subject including one quite complete write up withing the last year I believe. Search should lead you in the right direction. It will just take a little time looking.
Sawadeh I agree I've wanted a dbl din touchscreen since I've gotten my 04 disco.. I also want to find someone who I can pay to do the work for me.. I unfortunately don't have the time/skill/ or patience to do it myself
