Looks like a pretty cool service snd the cost seems more than reasonable especially because you get a before and after flow report.

I think this guy is in Utah.

Has anyone ever tried Mr. Injector?

I and my friends have had great service from Oregon Fuel Injection in Eugene (https://oregonfuelinjection.com). I'm not paid by them to say this, either. They work on both gas and diesel injectors, and have fair prices. I don't know if they do mail-order or not, so you might want to call and ask.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me more about why you had your injectors serviced and what the effect was when reinstalled?

I sent two sets of injectors there.

The first set was from my Saab 900S, which wasn't running very smoothly, even by Saab standards. Engine compression checked out, and I fixed all vacuum leaks, but it was still rough especially at full throttle at mid-range revs. All four cleaned up well, and they also sold me new rubber and steel banjo seals. I was very satisfied. The price was far lower than replacing all four injectors, which was appreciated at that point.

Next I realized that my BMW 750iL was getting rough. OK, a V-12 is usually very smooth to begin with, but I was noticing some odd syncopations. I took all 12 injectors over and had them tested, with the expectation that they'd need rebuilding, and nine failed the initial test. After rebuilding three of them still failed their test. The others were at their lower acceptable range, so I decided to replace all 12 because replacing only the three that failed would have possibly resulted in uneven running. OK, I didn't save a lot of money this time, but 750iL's aren't cheap to maintain.

My boss noticed that his X5's V-8 was running a little rough, so he took his injectors for a rebuild. One of his injectors failed the test after the rebuild, but the others were completely on spec, so he replaced the one injector and had a very smooth idle again.

Another co-worker gets his F350 PowerStroke serviced at Oregon Fuel Injection, and has been a loyal customer there for years.

So, yeah, I have some experience with Oregon Fuel Injection, and I like their work.

Thanks for that report, Scott. I heard back from Bill at Mr. Injector today and will hopefully get around to pulling the injectors this weekend.

As straight forward as these little V8’s are I always anticipate something not going as planned when I crack the hood and start wrenching. Specifically with this job I am worried the injectors will be stuck in the manifold. Can anyone tell me if my fears are unfounded? Also any tips would be appreciated.
