Default Which 180 thermostat to get.

I am leaning towards an oem diesel thermostat to put in my D2. I am told all the diesel thermostats are 180. Can someone try me in on this? Or should I go with one of the non-OEM aftermarket ones?

If running the stock set up then yes I would go with the oem diesel t-stat. I think the best option out there is one of the members (Extinct) sells an inline t-stat kit that I have in one of my discos and have been very impressed. Actually have a second one on order for my other d2.

I got mine from bearmach diesel stamped 78 Celsius. After 3 months it completely failed. Glad I caught it on my ultraguage at 240 c

trust me go with the inline thermostat it’s easy install and much better temps

Yep. Make sure you get an actual LR part. It's dark grey.

In-line is the only way to go, even if you don’t use mine.

Just to confirm. Is this the original Td5 180 part? Because everyone posts do you original part as being gray colour but to my eye this looks more like cream colour

That is not the right one. Don't look for the genuine LR TD5 stat on E-bay or Bearmach... Go to a reputable seller.

i have had zero issues with my Bearmach 180° thermostat; and it was recommend by several people in the forums before I purchased it.
