Default Mud Flaps..

Well, I was going to remove the mud flaps on my 98 Disco today (I'm missing one, so I just thought I'd take them all off to make it look a bit cleaner). Is there some special trick to this? They look like they're riveted in place, not bolted.

REgards,
Joe Martin

Yes they are riveted in place, the best way that I have found on my truck is to use a hack saw and cut the heads off the rivets and then use a center punch and knock them out.
I have mud flaps from a semi that I am cutting to size and I am going to use stainless steel nuts and bolts to attach them.

You can also drill the rivet heads out. Use a drill bit slightly smaller than the rivet.

Thanks guys. Mike, I'm up in Oregon, and I just called up my dad (who's a retired state trooper) and according to him, it's legal to take them off- so if I get a ticket, I'll let him pay

Regards,
