Default Multiple problems - are they conected

So the car is a 2004 with 47k on the clock. It has ran faultless for the last 4 months and 6k miles until last week.

First the oil light came on at low RPM.

then 4 days later the service light came on flashing

then after 10 miles trying to get home the car started missing

I ran the codes and there are 2 P0307 cylinder 7 misfire

Could these be connected? What is my next step? (replace leads? do an oil change ?)

First check the oil level.
What weight of motor oil are you using?

Ok but what is in it right now? What weight is the other 5 quarts?
You are going to need to get the oil pressure tested before you do anything else.
If the oil light comes on again do not drive the truck as you will blow up the engine.

rest of oil is 15-50w. The light only comes on when at idle and instantly goes away with revs

Ok, you need to have the oil pressure tested, cold at idle, cold at 2,000 rpm, hot at idle and hot at 2,000 rpm.
The mis fires are not related to the oil light, the oil light is your #1 priority, your oil pump may be failing.

I asked about the oil because if you use 0w-40, 0w-20, or any other 0w- and it is really hot out and you worked the engine hard the oil can get to thin and cause the oil light to come on.

And deal with that #7 misfire before you burn out a Cat.

Replace them both, bad leads will cause the plugs to foul.

ok an update,

oil pressure is fine

misfire is not leads or plugs and the garage reakon it is the coils. They have quoted me $1000 for 4.5 hours labour to replace the coils?

Does this sound right?
