Super interested in following along how you do the manual swap without breaking the bank too badly.
I find my mpg’s are always better the smoother I am on the throttle. Also, with the lift and the front bumper that helps departure angle you probably get a high pressure area that hurts fuel mileage from that bumper compared to a stock one. My front end is stock, stock ride height and for me on a Highway/ interstate trip 15mpg’s is easy.

You mentioned an R380 swap. I’d LOVE t go that route myself, as I’m sure plenty of others would since we didn’t get manual D2’s here and manual cars are harder to find every year.

There's a couple good threads on here of people that have done it in the past.
Poor MPG is definitely more from the oversized tires than from the bumper, but I'm sure it's not helping either.

The Rover got a brake fluid flush today, as well as new rear pads (EBC Greenstuff) and a 5 tire rotation. Brakes feel way better now which I’m super happy about.
Still have to sort out the vibration, but this thing doesn’t get used much due to the trans issues and high gas prices so I’ll figure it out when I get to it

Welp, the Harbor Freight winch I've only used a handful of times (though it's been on there for years) died. The cable was starting to rust a little, so I went to unwind it and it spun slowly and on a delay, and then stopped working. Now it just clicks when I hit the button. Pulled it off and tested it; seems like the motor is shot. Bummer. I'd just leave it off, but I cut a chunk of the grille out and originally bought a winch bumper to fit it, so it looks super goofy without a winch. Anyone have experience repairing winch motors or know if the Badland ZXR12000 has replacement parts available?

Check your driveshafts people! On the 1200-mile trip I took this thing on a month or so ago, it started vibrating towards the end of the trip, and I parked it for a while for other reasons. I drove it again last week, and the driveshaft started squealing, so I ordered a replacement (dirt cheap eBay one - non-greasable, but for $150 and considering how little I drive this thing I could care less as long as it doesn't vibrate). So, I put it in today, and it's back to being vibration and squeak free. Also, wow was this thing close to coming apart! Another 20 miles and it would have likely self-ejected. Glad everything worked out.
Yeah, that's not good. It basically fell apart in my hand.
