Default My new 2004 just appeared on a truck

My Ebay Discovery 04 is finally here....

Spent the afternoon checking her over... so far just about everything seems to work apart from the stereo, on which the buttons don't work. The screenwashers weren't working but I found a cracked T, easy fix!

Other issues :

Oil leak from top cover gasket
Slight tappet noise (needs an oil change, so hoping it goes away)
Front seat lower cushions in poor shape
Front brake discs are worn
One rear bumper finisher missing
Tool kit is missing
Headlamp glass is faded/gone opaque
Wheel lock on the spare wheel, but no key!

Needs smoging and registering before I can drive it... I did do a quick trip around the block and all seemed fine.

Car looks NICE!! All disco's look great from the outside though. Lets see some pictures of the underside of the engine. That tells the real story. No pressure washing it first, that's cheating...LOL

Is that a dark green or black? It looks Epsom Green to me

The bottom of the engine might not look so great, considering it has already marked it's territory with a couple of drips of engine oil!

I've got two Rover V8s now, the TR8 and the Land Rover. Both seem to leak oil at the same rate, from the same places!

It is dark green, think that is Epsom Green metallic.

Headlamp glass is not an issue. You can take to Walmart or any other shop and usually they can clean and buff and will look new for about $40.

Keep in mind that headlights are clear-coated from the factory to protect them. Once this coating starts to fade and yellow sanding and buffing it off makes them clear but they will yellow even faster. The best fix is to wet sand them and repaint them with a UV protective clear paint.

Thanks, that's good to know, but do you know a good clearcoat? I thought most of the rattle can ones are not that long lived.

There's is a thread already on here about headlamp restoration using 3M kit. You can use this Optimim Opti Seal to restore the headlamp anti UV coating.

Optimum Opti-Seal - 8 oz | Free Shipping Available - Detailed Image

I cannot take credit for this info it was from a thread on here which was excellent.
