Default I Just Seafoamed My Truck

Thanks DiscoMike for your direction.

On Sunday afternoon I put a can of seafoam in my gas tank. I noticed a little difference. Today I put a can through the intake. WOW, my truck actually has some acceleration now. I could not believe it could make such a difference. Throttle response is great, acceleration is better than I ever remember it and it shifts into O/D at a higher speed. No more lag and labouring to get it going to highway speeds.

It worked a treat. Now I am happy again with my truck, the three amigos were cleared last week, now this. It smoked like a chimney for a few minutes and spluttered at first but soon cleared out all the crap.

Only problem is my Service Engine Light is on. It blinked twice upon first driving, but stayed on after that. Will this reset after a couple of cycles or do I have to get it cleared. Any thoughts ?

I may have had a bad case of "premature speculation". I drove to work this morning and it drives like a tank again.

Would the SES light have any effect on the engines running ?[/align]

It took my '03 Disco about three days to clear the check engine light; but it did go off on it's own.

The truck will not run smooth or clean with the CEL on--- because the computer defaults to a fuel mixture control value (map)that protects the engine --- but is too rich for optimum performance.

My SES light went off this morning on the way into work. It is snowing pretty hard here right now so I do not know if the truck is running any better now or not.

thanks for the responses guys
