Thumbs down Now getting rid of new toy...

Yes, I ran my RR 4.0 to about 300,000.00 miles in the last 9 years... She was a great ride...will be parting her out.... I got my daughter a 2000 Discovery about 8 months ago so i jumped in myself. I just picked up my 2004 discovery SE7 a few hours ago... It's in extremly great condition for the year . I am changing out the transfer case next week as the whining is a bit suspect but i have a replacement on the way. Anyway, look forward to tricking this beast out with the usual..lift, tires snorkel, racks....My G4 project... anyway thought i would share.. Doing the full service this weekend..

Chris

Thanks all , glad to join you all...

I will but it does not read 300,000.... it stoped working at around 230,00.00 as well as the speedo.. It still runs but the right head is going... Runs like a top. I lost the key last year so after drilling the ignition...'Land Rover NA" could not make a key, i have been starting it with a pipe.. I will post some picks..you will get a great Laugh...She just wont die....

X2 on hilltoppers. Have you changed the fluid to a heavier weight and checked for shavings? could just be an output shaft bearing..

Also re-build the front shaft..

Pretty sure as we had it on the liftwith wheels up so we could run it on the lift. Sound comming right from the transfer case. Even in Neutral so the transmission is fine. Sounds like when you are in a jet liner and they are putting the flaps down on final approach. Only when foot not on gas. Touch the gas goes away. Pretty annoying like a 55 chevey 3 speed pickup truck. Got one with 40 thousand miles on it. Will come in the next couple days.

Thanks Chris
