Default My Remote

I have two Land Rover Discoveries and I use one for parts. The one I drive had no remote and the junked one had a remote. I bought a replacement key for the Rover I still drive and want to reprogram my remote from the parts truck to the truck I still drive. Land Rover will do it for $60 but is ther a way I can do it myself?

You can only program a remote, FOB, if you have the barr code number and a computer with the correct Rover software.

Where do you live? Maybe someone nearby will program it for you.

$60 seems cheap. Locally here, they want $120.

Speaking of remotes; I assume there is a battery in the key fob but it appears to be sealed. I am afraid of cracking it tyring to get at it. Any advice on acessing the battey in the key?

If you look where the key ring goes through, you'll see a notch that you can pry on, with another key or a flat screw driver.
