While crawling around under my truck playing silly buggers with my O2 sensors I found this on the side of my transfer case and these two guys hanging out by my transmission.

Anybody know what they're for and if they're supposed to look like this?

I changed a sensor today and noticed them as well. My guess is they are for some diagnostic test?

 

Perhaps for the CDL light on the dash?

 

At least it's supposed to be that way, I guess. I was thinking I got dirtied by the dealership prior to buying it. The PO had it on a lease and the dealer was the only one that serviced it. Unless yours was serviced by Land Rover of Centerville in Utah at some point in it's life? I never really trusted those monkeys.

I was kinda thinking that myself. Although my truck never had a CDL. Was it even an option for the '03MY? Regardless, it's a little ghetto on Land Rover's part to just clip the wires on the switch instead of pulling and filling it with a blank plug. Maybe the guys that made that call were from LR's British Leyland era.

 

I've got them on my 04' and haven't a clue as to the function.
