The book mentions that there are paint Babs all over the motors meaning different things.

The spot I show in my photo is where the cylinder thickness paint daub is supposed to be, in the valley. The other locations mean other things.

mine just had a daub of coolant mixed with oil.
must be a special vehicles edition.

Well that's good to know. so maybe my blue block isn't a blue block after all. and I had started looking at it like a stepchild.
I'll have to try and clean it and look for a paint dab in there before I take it to the machine ship. I figure the machine shop cleaning may take any paint off.
But it is what it is and chances of me finding a good red block are slim.
