Navigation head unit to Alpine swap

Navigation head unit to Alpine swap
‘04 D2. Anyone ever successfully swap out the navigation head unit for the Alpine type? I tried awhile ago but no luck. If I remember correctly, all the connectors in the back fit, but I couldn’t get it to work.
