Need 97 Disco key fob & prgm inst to sync w/ and/or adj to car's freq.
I have a 97 Disco whose key fob was lost, stolen, or mislaid.
Need a replacement fob, and instructions on how to program the new fob to either synchronize with the existing lock system and/or how to reprogram both to a new frequency.
Preferably the latter for security reasons, given that the original fob could have been stolen.
(Unless there is something I do not know about the association of lock frequencies with VINs for Discos...

You will need to find a fob with the same frequency on e-bay. If you don't know the original, you may have problems. You can get one new from the dealer. The dealer will have to program whatever you get to the vehicle. Some indy shops will have scanners that can open the alarm sequence, but most don't. You are probably looking at a few hundered on this one.

Ditto OKdisco,
The 2 button has to be programmed by dealer to your truck.
There are several different fcc id.#'s so if you buy 2 used ones, make sure the #'s on the outside of the fobs are the same.
the dealer will/can match them both to your truck (has to be done at the same session) or so I'm told
I bought a matching spare off ebay, but have not gone to dealer yet.
luck,greg
