Default RTE adj upper and lower mount install question

I am going to install these adjustable upper mounts in the morning, but does it matter which direction I mount them? Should the open side face the engine or the fender?

With regard to the lower mounts does it matter which direction I mount it?

Well I got everything installed but the shock isn't centered in the upper shock mount openning. I tried reversing them but no difference. Both are off to the front of the openning. I have about 5-7mm from the shock body to the frame of the upper shock mount lower flange.

Any ideas?

Should be fine. Won't get much closer on compression and will move away on droop.
