Default need advice! update

oil pump looks like new so rod bearings it is ..........im trying to decide whether to have the bottom end rebuilt or just swap out the short block for a used one and pray that its in good order........Im really leaning towards the rebuild because my block is fine and my heads look like new,and there is a really good rebuild shop 30 miles from my house.however having no clue how long that takes and winter is fast approaching and my car sucks ***** in the snow ................................................. I JUST NEED A GOOD SHOVE IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

Pull the oil sump and the front cover. Most likely you have a broken oil pump ring and if you quit driving it right now, you may save your engine.

Regarding your noise, I think I have a similar noise. My engine has had a ticking/knocking type noise for a while now. A few months ago I had my headgasket done, replaced lifters also. Noise still there. Oil pump pressure checked-good. I think it is from the rod bearings. Has anyone replaced rod bearings and had the problem fixed?

Yeah, let me know what you find out. When I had my oil leaks fixed, they checked the oil pump and pressure-both checked out good. The noise is is very noticeable from the bottom thats why I was thinking rod bearings.

Why just the lifters, did you test them, did you replace the cam also, did you measure the push rods, which usually wear down and cause the majority of the noises?
